For ten years, FSM founder Pat Ryan has been playing jazz music in the southern NE region. He has assembled many creative groups and has several projects underway, including a CD project of original jazz and an ongoing gig at the Blue Anchor in Hyannis. In January Pat's quintet was the featured music in an event called "A Tribute to Miles Davis." Joined by pianist John Harrison, saxophonist Billy Thompson, bassist Thomas Brinkley, and drummer Stan Ellis, the quintet played a range of the music associated with the great master Miles Davis. Along with the music itself, Pat was able to give an historical commentary on the tunes, the musicians and the development of Miles music as the selected compositions revealed as much of the man as the music.
